New platform connects security companies and officers through compliance management, credentials, training records, recruiting, and professional development.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, UNITED STATES, October 5, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The California Private Security Organization (CPSO) will officially launch its statewide platform this October at the CALSAGA Annual Conference, introducing a new approach to how California’s private security industry manages its workforce, training records, professional credentials, and regulatory compliance.
Built specifically for California’s private security industry, CPSO brings security companies and security officers into a unified professional ecosystem designed around one fundamental idea:
Security officers are the workforce. CPSO is the workforce multiplier.
California’s private security industry depends on hundreds of thousands of security professionals working across commercial properties, schools, healthcare facilities, construction sites, critical infrastructure, special events, residential communities, and countless other locations.
Yet the records documenting the qualifications of that workforce are often fragmented across employers, training providers, individual officers, emails, paper certificates, and disconnected systems.
CPSO was created to change that.
Building Infrastructure for California’s Security Workforce
Through the CPSO platform, participating security companies can manage officer training and credential records, monitor licensing information, assign training, produce compliance documentation, recruit security professionals, and maintain organized workforce records from a centralized system.
For security officers, CPSO creates something equally important: a professional profile capable of preserving training and credentials as an officer moves throughout their career.
Instead of valuable training documentation repeatedly becoming fragmented when an officer changes employers, CPSO is building an infrastructure in which the officer’s professional record can remain connected to the individual.
The objective is straightforward: make qualified security professionals easier to identify, training easier to document, and compliance easier for employers to manage.
From Digital Platform to Statewide Network
The October launch represents the beginning of a much larger CPSO initiative.
CPSO plans to develop a network of physical locations throughout California where security professionals can access workforce and professional-development services.
These locations are envisioned to provide services including instructor-led training, professional profile photographs, assistance submitting training certificates and credentials, proctored examinations for qualifying CPSO Verisect™ credentials, and other services designed specifically around the needs of the private security workforce.
The combination of a statewide digital platform and physical service network is intended to give California’s security industry something it has historically lacked: a common infrastructure dedicated specifically to the people and companies responsible for private security.
Preparing for a Changing Regulatory Environment
CPSO’s launch comes as California continues to place greater emphasis on security-officer training, documentation, workplace safety, and professional standards.
The passage of SB 1203 further underscores the importance of training and maintaining reliable evidence of completion as California moves toward expanded security-officer training requirements.
CPSO believes the future of compliance should not simply mean placing additional administrative burdens on security companies and officers. Technology, centralized records, professional training infrastructure, and greater portability of documentation can help the industry respond to higher standards more efficiently.
CPSO will continue developing its platform and training infrastructure as BSIS implements the regulatory and curriculum requirements applicable to the new law.
Beyond Minimum Compliance
CPSO is also developing the Verisect™ credentialing program, designed to document additional training and professional development in specialized areas of private security.
Planned credential areas include construction security, critical infrastructure security, healthcare security, school security, event security, fire watch, and emergency-response competencies.
Verisect credentials are private professional credentials and are not government-issued licenses or certifications. Their purpose is to give officers an opportunity to document training and competencies beyond baseline licensing requirements while giving employers additional information about workforce qualifications.
A Stronger Officer Creates a Stronger Industry
CPSO believes improving private security begins with investing in the people who perform the work.
Security officers protect people, property, businesses, infrastructure, schools, healthcare environments, and communities every day. Their training, experience, and professional development should not disappear into filing cabinets every time they change employers.
Likewise, security companies should not have to rebuild an officer’s professional record from the beginning every time they make a hire.
CPSO’s long-term vision is therefore larger than another software product.
It is to create infrastructure connecting recruitment, credential verification, training, professional development, record portability, and compliance across California’s private security industry.
Security officers are the workforce. CPSO is the workforce multiplier.
By giving officers better tools to build and preserve their professional credentials and giving security companies better tools to manage and develop those officers, CPSO intends to strengthen both sides of the industry.
Launching at CALSAGA
CPSO will formally introduce the platform to California security-industry leaders during the CALSAGA Annual Conference in October 2026.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the CPSO platform, its agency and officer services, Verisect credentialing, compliance-management capabilities, and CPSO’s vision for developing a statewide security-workforce network.
The October launch is only the beginning.
CPSO’s goal is to help build a more connected, better trained, and more professionally documented private security workforce, and provide California security companies with the infrastructure necessary to manage that workforce at scale.
